The brass city

Moradabad has worked metal since the seventeenth century. Whole neighbourhoods here are organised around a single stage of the craft — one lane raises vessels, the next chases patterns, another polishes and lacquers. It is a city-scale workshop, and it has supplied the world for generations.

We work with sixty artisan families across those lanes. They are paid per piece at rates agreed in advance, and the same hands work our orders year after year — which is why our tenth shipment looks like our first.

Sajida International is a member of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), Government of India — the recognised body for handicraft exporters. For international buyers it means verified export standing, compliant documentation and participation in the IHGF trade fairs where much of our wholesale business begins.
